On the verge of throwing her body off a Kansas bridge into
the frigid waters below, Blue miraculously postpones her death wish.
Finding herself, instead, in the office of Dr. Love Mae Montgomery, she
begins to explore the depths of her suicidal depression. Eventually,
she is forced to face the one question most human beings fear the most--
who am I? To answer this question, she must venture into the
deepest regions of her soul to discover why she gave up her baby.
Perhaps then she can reclaim her will to live.
But Blue craves love. George, a darkly handsome Vietnam vet, with
psychic wounds of his own, seems to fit the bill. She enters into
his world of drugs, sex and seething anger toward women... and he violates
her body and soul. Instead of enlightenment, she begins a downward
spiral-- rushing headlong toward self-destruction.
As she teeters on the precipice between life and death, Blue's love for
the son she gave up becomes, paradoxically, her only hope for salvation.
Set in the early post-war seventies, OUT OF THE BLUE is a suspenseful
and compelling depiction of one woman's journey into the heart of darkness.
